Moving Toward a UN 5WCW: What You Can Do Now

President Obama: This Time Support a UN 5th World Conference on Women (5WCW)!
 
The UN Secretary General and the President of the General Assembly in a Joint Statement (3/8/12) asked for a resolution from General Assembly to have a Global Conference on Women, the first since Beijing, 1995. It had some strong support until the USA and the EU were against it. It is time now, to take this up again. Once passed, 5WCW would likely be held in 2017.  Sign Here

If you are going as an NGO delegate to UN CSW : What you can do while in New York:

Go to your regional caucus to inform and lobby support for 5WCW. — e.g. Latin America and the Caribbean: this region dedicated itself to being part of the Zone of Peace. Has four women presidents, included the new president of Chile who was the first head of UN Women.              
Go to your country’s mission, make appointment with your ambassador or relevant staff member. Take the 2014 ESOSOC statement in your language. (above)
